In a comment at his HeartScan blog, Dr. William Davis made a statement that impressed me just about as much as anything else he’s written:
We are all swimming in a sea of information and mis-information, and blind alleys along the way to the truth. We can only educate ourselves as best as possible and then come to our own judgments about the value of this or that argument.
I like to think of the problem like this:
It’s night in a big city, lots of lights, and the dilemma is to find the building and the room where all the facts and truths are clear that are optimal for health. It turns out, however, that half the street signs have had their names randomly switched out with other street sign names. There are lots of buildings and rooms that contain varying amounts, degrees, and mixtures of facts and truths as well as misinformation.
Finding those can be helpful but there’s only one building and room with the complete set of facts and truth.
I’d like to find that room to the degree that I have the capability and time to look for it.
This night cityscape is intended to be a statement, actually, a WARNING, to readers that I make no claim to knowing much for certain. I’m not a doctor, nor am I a scientist.
I’m looking for the building and the room with all the best bright lights just like you are.
This blog is really just a realtime account of my search for that light.
